Discover entered the credit card market many years after Visa and Mastercard. However they were able to make a name for themselves by offering a no annual fee credit card, no annual fee was uncommon at this time, with higher credit limits than their competitors. But the big factor in making Discover credit card successful, and the one they are probably most known for, is offering cash back on purchases. Originally offering 1-2% however now they offer up to 5% with the percentage being based on how much money is charged to the card.
If are considering a new credit card, especially if you are looking for a cash back reward card, Discover card is a good option. As mentioned above, no annual fee and cash back up to 5%.
